    University of Huddersfield, Oastler Building
    Architect: KSS Architects
    Installer: Topfix Interiors
    Product: Dalhem Ribba
2650m2 (or 18,000 linear metres) of Dalhem Ribba in natural Oak veneer were installed to the pitched ceilings of the four main indoor visitor spaces at thr Royal Horticultural Society's Welcome Centre in Wisley, Surrey. The new buildings mark the begining of a large £70m regeneration program covering multiple RHS sites across the UK.
Ribba was chosen to add both a subtle and natural warmth to the minimalist space in addition to providing some acoustic control to the halls. Using large gaps between ribs improved the acoustic performance by increasing the accessible surface area of the acoustic mineral wool lining behind the ribs.
Lacquered solid timber ribs from Dalhem were also used under the canopies outside the building.
