Last year Gustafs and Edify Studio had the pleasure of speaking to Myles Burke from PLP; the architect behind the spectacular Arbor Workspace about the use of Gustafs Ribs in the atrium and lobby spaces at Bankside Yards.

“Flexible office space built for the future…”

Bankside Yards is a new mixed-use development set on the South Bank of the river Thames in central London. When finished, it will consist of eight buildings, that will house offices, apartments, shops, restaurants and a 5-star hotel. The first building to be completed was Arbor, which opened in February 2023. It’s an 18-storey high office building, which is described as “a next generation office building, designed as a hub for interaction, creativity, and inspiration”.

In the entrance area of the building, steel framing and brick walls serves as a reminder of the industrial heritage of the site which Bankside Yards is built at. To add softness and warmth to the space, Gustafs Linear Ribs were chosen as a compliment to the more rough materials. Together with our British distributor LSA, we have provided over 300 sqm of oak ribs to the project.

The film by Edify is below and more details and images can be found in our project case study.
